Healthy Eating Tips to Lose Weight

     salad-a1Our body needs energy, which it sources from the different foods we eat. Foods full of calories do not add to the body’s energy level, but only to the fat. To lose this fat, one needs to cut off its supply by eating lesser calorie laded foods and by increasing activity levels. Burn the fat!

     Eat Less Calories
     Calories are essential for the body, and complete and sudden elimination from the diet will make one weak. The idea here is to reduce the intake and supplement it with healthy foods. Cut down on fatty foods and concentrate more on healthy foods. Eat in small quantities, at least five times in a day. There are only two things that have no calories in them. Water and foods full of fiber, protein and vitamins. Replace all aerated drinks with water, and healthy drinks like herbal tea, iced tea, lemonade, or fresh fruit and vegetable juices. The cooking medium is what puts calories in the cooked food, use unsaturated oil for cooking. Wherever possible eat food that has been grilled, baked, steamed or boiled.

     Have assorted raw vegetables and fruits as salads. Avoid salad dressings made of mayonnaise. Replace all in-between snacks of biscuits, cakes, burgers, chips, etc with a fruits, or even skimmed milk products like yogurt. Eat brown breads, and products made of whole grains and cereals. Incorporate the habit of drinking healthy homemade soups and broths. Adding pasta or brown rice with loads of vegetables, or chicken to the soups will make it a whole meal which can be added to the diet plan. Cut down on alcohol intake. It is perfectly fine to indulge in a few rich foods, but spread the habit right across the week. Nutritious foods have less calories and do not allow accumulation of fat in our bodies.

Cook Corn on the Cob

     How to Boil Corn on the Cob using a Stove?

     Step 1: Take a pot and pour some water in it. Keep the pot for heating on the stove and let it reach the boiling point. The size of the pot that you choose, will depend on the quantity of the corn to be boiled.

     Step 2: Take the corn on the cob and remove the green husk. The remaining silky hair on the corn can be removed by splashing water forcefully on it. Make sure to clean the corn properly before putting it in water.

     Step 3: Now that the corn is cleaned, put it in the boiling water. Cover the pot with a lid. Let the corn boil for about five minutes. If you want them to be really soft, you may extend the time to ten minutes.

     Step 4: When the corns have boiled properly, take them out of the pot by using tongs as they will be really hot. Now you may add salt and pepper to it according to taste. I personally like to cover them on all sides with butter and cheese first, before adding salt and pepper. It makes them really yummy. Grow Sprouts at Home

     superiorhs_11Growing sprouts at home is really easy, if you know the right method. You have to decide the right seed, grain or bean for sprouting. The most commonly used ones are mung bean, chickpeas, clover seeds, fenugreek and alfalfa, adzuki bean, amaranth, annatto seed, anise seed, basil, brown rice, pinto bean, lima bean, buckwheat, canola seed, celery, cilantro, clover, cress, dill, fennel, green lentils, pearl millet, rye, sunflower, wheat berries, etc. It is better to go for organic ones, which are not treated with any chemicals. Otherwise, refrain from using those seeds, which are meant for sowing. Even though the basic method of sprouting is the same, it can be done in different ways.      For any method of sprouting, soaking is the most important and primary step. You have to clean the seeds and remove the broken ones. Then wash the seeds well and keep it in water for a few minutes. Dirt, dead seeds and husk, etc. get accumulated on the water surface. Remove these things and wash the seeds again. The seeds have to be soaked for at least six to eight hours. It will be better to keep it soaking overnight. Always remember that the amount of water taken for soaking, must be three to four times, the volume of the seeds. Once the seeds get soaked, they expand in size and become soft. Strain the seeds to remove excess water. This can be done by pouring the soaked seeds through a cheese cloth placed on a strainer. The meat is used less because of the high prices, but in change, sea fruits that also represent a high amount of proteins, are very important in Chinese menus and are not so expensive.

     The Chinese ways of cooking are not, as many could think, a rapidly, cheap and of a lower quality job, No, not at all, instead, cooking Chinese food could be called ‘art’!

     Taking into account the surface of the country and the climatic differences, there are four principal categories: the North kitchen, rich in goat and ewe meat, seasoned with vinegar, garlic and leek in order to neutralize the smell of the others; the South kitchen, characterized by a sweeter taste than all the others – using a lot of rice, vegetables, fish, chicken and pork meat, these being prepared in steams bath or hot oil to make them as crispy as possible; the East kitchen is known for the very lent ways of preparing the food, a food that is based on fish, Soya sausages; and the West kitchen that is the more of the Asiatic countries very spiced and seasoned.
