For decades we have been relying on the goodness of milk. Mommies and grannies have always exclaimed in a monotone about how milk helps you to have a healthy gray cell growth and bodily development. It sets a ground to maintain sound bone health from the time you walk on four, makes for a smooth ride when you walk on two and aids you to sail through when you walk on three! It is when you reach an age where navigation starts getting difficult, do we understand about the benefits that milk had in store, to offer. However, there are some children, unfortunate enough who have to compromise on milk not by choice but by force. Lactose intolerance is the answer. By lactose intolerance I mean to explicate that milk and products that are derived through milk are not suitable for the infant’s health. Sprouting out rashes, unconditional redness on skin, brief episodes of diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, regurgitation are some of the reactions that crop up for children who are lactose intolerant. It is due to this prime reason that the child is unable to consume milk and milk products like cottage cheese, cheese, ice-creams or any product that has a consistency of milk. Being definite in conclusion there is a healthy alternative to milk. This is called soy milk or soya milk. There are benefits of soy milk that parents and children can rely on. In this article we explicate the benefits of soy milk for infants.
Is Soy Milk Good for Children?
Yes Soy milk is good for children. When children are allergic to proteins that is constituted in milk, their body rejects and reacts negatively towards those proteins that have been ingested. Soy milk, thus becomes a good alternative. Soy milk provides vitamin E, vitamin B and essential fatty acids. Soy milk is low on sodium and saturated fat content and is rich in dietary fiber.

Tonsillitis can advance to something to as serious as extracting the enlarged tonsils, to avoid future severe infections in this area. I didn’t have to forgo my tonsils and go through a surgery, but instead went at a stage where the injections did the trick to rid the swelling and inflammation. Strep throat infections have a chance of spiraling out of control where the stomach is then affected with extreme pain, where this condition can escalate by bringing upon the child a case of rheumatoid fever and an infection in the kidneys. Kids fall prey to these infections more commonly than adults, and have to be kept an eye on for serious symptoms of the two conditions.
So while tonsillitis is brought on by an infection caused by a bacteria or virus, strep throat in particular is caused by the already mentioned, streptococcus pyrogene. There are different symptoms that both conditions bring on that are definitive to each kind.
Symptoms of Strep Throat
•Feeling unwell and not an ease
•Cervical lymph nodes are tender
•Lack of appetite
•Hives
•Pain residing in the abdominal region
•Rash
•Nausea
•Skin starts to peel around the feet and areas of the hands
•Halitosis
•Vomiting
Symptoms of Tonsillitis
•Headaches
•Extreme pain when swallowing saliva/food
•Chills
•Muscle aches and pains
•Sore throat sensations with pain in the ears
•Fever
•Coughing
•Neck glands swell up, and sometimes one’s cheeks as well
So as you can see from the above symptomatic differences, tonsillitis and strep throat are indeed two completely different health issues. It is important to visit a clinic and get your child treated for either of the two depending on how severe the signs get. You’ll also notice how strep throat is a more serious problem than tonsillitis, being a condition that needs to be given immediate medical attention when the signs persist. Tonsillitis and strep throat usually occur around the cold winter season, or when a child is constantly ingesting cold food items or drinks. Be sure to limit how many icy edibles your child is taking and don’t ignore flu like symptoms that may arise. Most cases are taken and classified as the common cold or flu but little do people know that it could be more than that. Continue Reading »
